I apologize for not writing yesterday. My fiancé decided to come over for the afternoon to hang out and I was happy to oblige.
We went to the mall in the morning to pick up my family's Christmas gifts. We ended up spending a pretty penny on different things, and I am sure they will be very excited to receive their gifts on the 19th. (Yes, we celebrate Christmas a bit early so I can spend time with my in-laws on the actual holiday. I have possibly the best in-laws on the planet and they always spoil me rotten at Christmas. :-) ) Anyhoo, we did that and hung out with my friends from the vegan meet-up group. We had an awesome time and one of my friends even brought some yummy vegan baked goods. (No go for me though since they had gluten in them.) We had possibly the best time ever.
Since it is my last week of school, I have treated myself to some jewelry making supplies and intend to open an online store by the time I have created enough inventory to sell. I have a few ideas including rainbow chakra bracelets (or just rainbow bracelets for those of you who aren't into that), various designs I've been thinking about, including vegan necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, and stuff made from polymer clay! I'll have to check whether the material is vegan or not, but if not, I will try and find some vegan ones.
Speaking of vegan, I am going to one of two holiday parties on Tuesday. :-) The animal rights team in St Louis is having a holiday party and I have made friends with someone who is part of START and invited several of my friends and I to a holiday party. They suggested that we have a vegan gift of some sort and since my jewelry is vegan in that it uses no silk, leather, wool, or pearl, I will bring a homemade bracelet to give for the gift exchange! I am very excited and I'm about to make that bracelet. I will go to the supply store later in the week as well to pick up some goods.
Oh, and I also got my first (non-offensive) vegan bumper sticker! It is white and says vegan. I have other ones that are somewhat offensive but I kind of keep it low-key with the bumper stickers since I have a lot of relatives and other folks close to me that... well, think I'm odd first of all, and otherwise don't get it. :-) This will be a nice way to bridge the awkward gap, lol! :-)
I am going to call it a night and get to the jewelry making. Very scandalous, right, lol? Anyhoo, Namaste and enjoy the journey! -S
