I had every intention of going out and running today. Unfortunately I had a slight change of plans. :-)
I woke up with a pain in the outer arch of my foot. I'm hoping to goodness that it isn't a stress fracture, so I won't be sidelined further, but for now it looks like it is just sprained or stretched wrong. I had a dull pain in my ankle and up the side of my leg when I was running yesterday, but it didn't hurt badly and I was so close to the end of the trail I had no choice but to finish it off.
If that wasn't crazy enough, I stubbed my toe on one of my dad's oxfords today and ended up breaking part of my toenail off. There was a bit of bloodshed, but it was easily cleaned up and taken care of. But it still smarts a little bit and I know once it ends up being inside a shoe it's just going to make it worse. So I will bandage it up tonight and hope for the best. :-)
I also started a personal development program via Chalene Johnson of Beachbody, I figured since it was free, it really wasn't that big of a deal. I saw the first video and it said what are your values? What do you want people to remember you by? It was kind of a weird question because I had never really thought of it before. I guess the things I value are my fiancé, my family, my pets, being a vegan, my hobbies (making jewelry and cards), and things like that. As far as things I'd like to be remembered by, I would love to be remembered as a person who cared deeply about the planet and about animals, that I made a difference as a vegan, and that I was the best damn wife (fiancée right now) on the planet. :-) I don't really have a huge set of goals because to be honest I've never really sat down and thought about, "I want to accomplish X, Y, and Z by the time I'm 30 or 40." It would be a good thing to think about. :-)
I made some cheezy broccoli potato soup that you see above. It definitely took a minute to figure out that I had put way too little salt and not enough nutritional yeast in the soup. It tasted like bland mashed potatoes at first. But then when I added some more ingredients it tasted much better. Also, it was really thick, almost like a smoothie. Usually I've seen potato soup be more thin. But I liked it nonetheless and next time will add some onions and tomatoes on the top.
Well, I've about said my piece for the evening. I hope ya'll have a great one! :-)
