I had the intention of writing a lofty goal post, but I got involved in a really deep spiritual post, which is great too!
I had decided to do a post about my goals for 2014, or at least starting after Christmas. I was a bit cynical of New Years Resolutions, but this awesome blog called Diary of an Angry Fat Woman has reformed me of my cynical ways for now. It is a good idea to have a goal date in mind, with set goals that you will accomplish throughout the year. Just make sure you stick to it! You are SO worth every single bit of self-care that you give yourself. :-)
Keeping that in mind, I have some goals that I intend to accomplish during 2014. I have them written down so I can refer back to them at a later date and X them off when I complete them.
Goals for 2014:
1) To go back to my animal-loving, tree-hugging herbivorous ways. And to do it in a way that it does not nutritionally deplete me. Veganism tends to get a bad rap from people who do not do it properly, who substitute one SAD for another, eating the same processed foods but the veganized version. This leads to nutrient depletion and all kinds of yuckiness. I want to be able to cook my own food, so that I don't have to worry about cross-contamination of wheat products in processed food.
2) To become more of a dedicated Christian and get over my sensitivity to churches. There is a looooong story behind that, which requires a lot of time and emotional investment to explain, so we'll just skip that for now. I want to become more active in my church, and find a place where I don't feel awkward. I also want to read my Bible more and read other books about God. I want to seek God's direction more in my life and listen to Him when He gives me instructions. (And He does, lol.)
3) I want to begin running more and complete more 5ks and possibly a 10k by the end of the year. I want to be able to use my Garmin and possibly get to a 9-11 minute pace by the end of the year (I'm very slow, lol! I'm almost afraid to post my mileage because of how slow it is.) By next year (2015) I want to run my first half.
I think they are reasonable goals, and I look forward to the new year.
That about wraps it up for me. I am about to go running. Have a fantastic day and a Merry Christmas!
